Hi there!  I’m Lizzette, author of Marcus Finds Fantastic Flavors and Good Morning, Amelia Island! I’m a mom, a wife and a writer with a Westie dog, and two places I call home: Charlotte, NC and Amelia Island, FL. When I’m not writing you’ll find me walking the beach, taking photos, or driving to and from our son’s lacrosse games.

I’ve been writing stories since I was a child.  The first one I can remember was about an adventurous girl named Lizzy who sinks into a patch of quicksand and drops into a world of magic. Fast forward decades— past college and grad school, and 14 years in New York City— and I found myself making up bedtime stories for our son.

One summer night as I put our son to bed at the beach, I made up a story about a boy and his Westie dog and their fun-filled romp around the island, complete with stops at each of our son’s favorite places— the beach, Fort Clinch and Downtown Fernandina. Our son loved the story so much he asked me to tell it again and again and again.  That’s when I decided it was time to write it down and share it with the world.

I hope you will enjoy reading Marcus Finds Fantastic Flavors as well as Good Morning, Amelia Island.  Both stories were written with love— for my son, for my beloved Amelia Island, and for all who enjoy reading as much as I do!
